Meadow Hill Company, Inc. was started in 1998 to foster the tradition of keepsake jewelry. The idea behind Thumbies is one that founder David Gordon nurtured from the time his mother created small gold casts of his daughters’ thumbprints almost thirty years ago. As he wore them, David realized that the charms gave him a sense that his girls were always with him. A keen entrepreneur, David worked with a number of artisans to develop and refine fingerprint keepsakes for his relatives and close friends. Over time he saw that the appeal was widespread and so David patented Thumbies and later Buddies.

Today, the Chicago-suburban company produces a wide range of products created from the prints of people and their pets. Meadow Hill sells directly to the public via this web site and through targeted mailings. The company also participates with nonprofit groups in a number of fund-raising programs and partners with thousands of funeral, healthcare and hospice service providers across North America and Canada.
